BANGLADESH

COUNTRY INFORMATION

Name: Bangladesh
Capital: Dhaka
Government: parliamentary democracy
Currency: taka (BDT)
Official language: Bangla, also known as Bengali
Other languages spoken: English
Religions: Muslim 83%, Hindu 16%, other 1%
Ethnic groups: Bengali 98%, tribal groups, non-Bengali Muslims

Brief History. The area that came to be Bangladesh was ruled by Buddhist kings for 400 hundred years until being conquered by the Muslims about 1200 A.D. In the 16th century it was absorbed into the Moghul Empire and by 1642 the British had arrived in the form of the British East India Company. One hundred years later, the area was entirely under British rule. In 1947, India achieved independence with Hindu (West) Bengal assigned to India and the East (Muslim) area given to Pakistan. Nearly a quarter of a century later, the Eastern Bengal claimed its own independence with civil war ensuing. An astounding 10 million refugees fled to India. Since independence, Bangladesh has remained one of the world's poorest nations, marked by instability in every realm along with a tendency to be in the path of natural disasters.

Hello, I am Shakil Huq. Welcome to my site of excitement and lucrative world of currency. I have created this site to share my hobbies. I’m a very passionate guy who works very hard to get the good results. Over the last decade I have travelled various places across the world to collect and research on foreign currency. I adore and am proud of my collections. It’s not an easy job, night after night I have worked round the clock to get to where I am now. Please take a look at what I have tried and achieved with more details and information I have added. If you have any question, please feel free to email me. Thank you
